I need a laptop to take on the road with me next Wednesday. I'm a Professional Videographer, I use Premier Pro and have a DSLR (1080p footage). I'm curious if anyone thinks I'll be able to edit on a Macbook Air 1.6ghz with an i5 processor. Keeping in mind this is my b-computer. I haven't seen any reviews of the new macbook air, but it's only an i5 dual core, that alone is not good at all for video editing. I bet you're gonna have a slow experience even with HD, and you can forget about 4k. Not even the top of the line macbook pro is good enough for smooth 4k editing since they don't have cuda gpu. Apple offers the Macbook Air. The current generation comes with a 1.6 dual-core Intel Core i5, 8gb of ram, and discrete graphics. Although you may upgrade the internal storage, the memory is capped at the 8gb. The Macbook Air is honestly a bit underpowered when it comes to video editing. Space planning software for mac. The 'Air' would not be many people's first choice for serious video editing. First off the screen is tiny, the internal storage is tiny and the RAM only expands to 8GB. It will work OK for simple. - Backlit Keyboard (British) & User's Guide (English)
- Accessory Kit
I am also planning on purchasing an external hardrive for video files.
I'm just curious would the upgrad in specs be enough to edit and export >8 minute long youtube style videos?

I'm not apposed to buying a Macbook pro but purly for convenience a Macbook Air would be my preference. Apple remote desktop requirements.
Would love some guidence
